Garden
There is over an acre of garden to the rear of the house and guests are welcome to enjoy our little piece of North Yorkshire! We have a number of chickens, and a resident duck - they will always welcome the treat of some leftover bread if you have any…all very friendly.
For any keen gardeners, feel free to grab a trowel and join in our on-going battle to beat the weeds!

Horse Holidays
We are lucky to have one of the best livery yards in North Yorkshire only 3 miles from the Cottage – Stockwell Stud Livery Yard.
Steeped in racing history (the current owner is part of the highly esteemed Easterby family), the available hacking reaches around 10 miles and covers over 600 acres of amazing parkland with extensive trails available for riders of all abilities. There are no roads to cross, and there is a first class floodlit arena, together with a cross-country course and a grass jump paddock.
As a busy private livery stables boasting over 80 horses, Stockwell offers quarantined, secure grazing and stabling in a welcoming and friendly environment. Bring your own feed, bedding and hay to ensure your horse safely enjoys their very own holiday as well!
Parking is available for your trailer or box on site. All horses must have up to date flu vaccinations and sight of their passport will be required.
Fees for on-site accommodation are £20 per night, per horse. Full turnout is available in the summer months, with stable and turnout available in the winter
All facilities at Stockwell Stud Livery Stables are subject to availability and bookings remain at the discretion of the owner.
Please ask us to check availability with Stockwell on your behalf in the first instance.
